What a great week!

We had a great week at Hampshire House. We went shopping at Walmart on Tuesday and out to lunch on Wednesday. We enjoyed the buffet at the Ponderosa and of course the dessert bar was our favorite spot! After lunch we arrived home in time to take a dip in the pool. It is 90 degrees and felt so good.

One of the many programs that we enjoyed last week was playing the kazoos. We learned all about this childhood favorite toy and had a lot of fun trying to play a tune.

Remnant

Hi everyone,

We had some very special music on Saturday. A trio of community singers called Remnant came and sang for us. They perform contemporary Christian music through-out Central New York. We really enjoyed their music and thank them for sharing it with us.

Bowling Tournament

Hampshire House had a bowling tournament on Saturday! The residents challenged the staff to a bowling game and guess what - they won! They are getting really good. We gave out ribbons to the winners and to the person on each team with the most strikes. Dick Schlafer got the most strikes for the residents and his son got the most for the staff. Joe Schlafer is Santa Clause at our Christmas party so we let him bowl for the staff. We had a banquet after the bowling and gave out the awards. We served a special cake made by the kitchen. Everyone had such a great time.

New Year's Day

Happy New Year to you all!

We had a very quiet New Year's Day here. It seemed nice after the hustle and bustle of Christmas. I hope you all had a very good day. We raised our glasses of sparkling grape juice and wished everyone here a Happy New Year and then we sang Old Lang Syne. We also enjoyed a snack of cheese and crackers. May you all have a wonderful 2010.
